Gunpowder Green Tea
Gunpowder Green Tea - A classic medium to strong green tea from China.
Large leaves are rolled into small pellets which have a full-bodied toasty flavour and the appearance of gunpowder shot. The leaves gently unfurl while brewing and provide a delicious yellowish infusion with moderate astringency. High in antioxidants. Brewing at lower temperatures (70 - 80 degrees / 2-3 minutes) will help to reduce astringency.
Gunpowder tea is traditionally exported to North Africa and blended with mint to make 'Mahgreb Moroccan Mint tea'.
