Long Jing - Dragon Well Tea

Long Jing - Dragon Well Tea also known by the alternative spelling of Lung Ching tea is one of China's Ten Famous Teas. This iconic tea is named after Long Jing village in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, where it originates. Long Jing tea is traditionally made from Tea Cultivar Long Jing 43. The tea has protected status and the limited quantity of tea grown and produced in the West Lake area immediately surrounding Long Jing village is highly prized and commands high prices.

To meet international demand for this popular & distinctive tea, high quality Long Jing tea is now produced across the wider region of Zhejiang province. The beautiful, characteristic and distinctive long flat leaves are harvested during the Spring and were traditionally pan-roasted by hand.

The leaves infuse to give a yellow-green infusion with a very fresh, distinctly grassy aroma, and deliciously sweet taste. If you're exploring Chinese teas or just curious to try something a little special this classic green tea is well worth seeking out.

Origin: Zhejiang Province, China
