Malawi Thyolo Oolong Tea

Malawi Thyolo Oolong Tea is a premium Oolong produced at the wonderful Satemwa tea estate in Malawi. The leaves are kept whole, hand-rolled, and carefully processed to undergo around 50-70% oxidation resulting in a well-rounded tea with a fuller, slightly nutty flavour. Oolong teas originate in Taiwan and Southern China. This is a great example of how artisan growers such as those at Satemwa are now producing fine quality Oolong teas. The leaves of this delicious tea are suitable for multiple infusions.

The Fairtrade Satemwa estate is a family business established in the 1920's and is currently headed up by Alexander Kay. Alex is passionate about running a sustainable business that produces high quality premium teas whilst working to improve the living standards and well-being of their female led team and their local community. The company is proud to hold Fairtrade status. In addition to supplying high quality commodity tea to many well known brands around the world, the estate team have set aside dedicated heritage tea fields to produce a range of fabulous hand-crafted artisan loose leaf teas such as this wonderful Oolong.
