Gunpowder Green Tea - Organic - A classic medium to strong green tea from China.
Large leaves are rolled into small pellets which have a fine toasty flavour and the appearance of gunpowder shot. The leaves gently unfurl while brewing and provide a delicious yellowish infusion with a rich full-bodied flavour.
Gunpowder tea is traditionally exported to North Africa and used to make 'Mahgreb Mint tea'. It is brewed strong and combined with mint and sugar in the distinctive Atay brewing method of West Africa and the Maghreb region. The method of blending Gunpowder tea with mint has been simplified and adapted to create the easy drinking Moroccan Mint blend that you will also find in our green tea collection.
