Kukicha - Green Twig Tea - Kukicha is also known as twig tea, or by its alternative Japanese name Bōcha. The tea is a blend of stems, stalks, and twigs from the Camellia Sinensis tea plant. Kukicha has a unique mild flavour and aroma among green teas, due to its being composed of parts of the tea plant that are not commonly used to create tea. The tea has a mildly nutty and slightly creamy sweet flavour.
Kukicha is naturally low in caffeine and is a popular choice for people who follow a macrobiotic diet.
