Long Jing - Dragon Well Tea

Long Jing - Dragon Well Tea also known by the alternative spelling of Lung Ching tea is one of China's Ten Famous Teas. The tea is named after Long Jing village in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, where it originates. Long Jing tea has protected status and the limited quantity of tea grown and produced in the fields immediately surrounding Long Jing village is highly prized and commands extremely high prices. This harvest is rarely available outside China.

To meet international demand for this distinctive tea, excellent quality Long Jing tea is also produced across the wider region of Zhejiang province. The characteristic and distinctive long flat leaves are harvested during the Spring and pan-roasted by hand.

The leaves infuse to give a yellow-green infusion with a very fresh, distinctly grassy aroma, and deliciously sweet taste. If you're exploring classic Chinese green teas or just curious to try something a little special this famous tea is well worth seeking out.

Origin: Zhejiang Province, China
