Malawi Thyolo - Oolong Tea - Fairtrade

This beautiful & delicious handmade Oolong tea is from the Satemwa tea estate in Malawi. The leaves are kept whole, hand-rolled, and carefully processed to undergo around 50% - 70% oxidation. Oolong teas originate in Taiwan and Southern China. This is a great example of how artisan growers such as those at the wonderful Fairtrade Satemwa Tea Estate in Malawi are now producing fine quality oolong teas. The leaves of this delicious tea can be infused at least 3 times. 

The Satemwa estate is a family business established in the 1920's and is currently headed up by Alexander Kay. Alex is passionate about running a sustainable business that produces high quality premium teas whilst working to improve the living standards and well-being of their female led team and their local community. The company is proud of their Fairtrade status.
